- Pisces VI, one of the limited private possibilities to descend the oceans, has been transferred to Tenerife
Going on an underwater adventure to depths of over 2,000 meters will soon be a reality in Spain. Pisces VI Submarine has recently been located to the Canary Islands, and will soon be available for a variety of missions that passengers can pay to join.
SUTUS 2021, the pioneering event on space and underwater tourism to be held at Les Roches Marbella from September 22-24, will feature a speech by Scott Waters (president and owner of Pisces VI Submarines), who will present details of the submersible, as well as its upcoming missions and plans, both in Spain and internationally.
Pisces VI Submarines is currently one of the few private possibilities worldwide to carry out first class tourist expeditions, at affordable prices and without specific physical preparation. This project, started in 2016 in Kansas (USA), has recently established its operational headquarters in Tenerife.
From there, Pisces VI will study, in collaboration with the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO), the seabed of the Canary Islands. This includes both underwater volcanic areas and species that are difficult to locate and access, such as the giant squid known to inhabit the waters surrounding the Canary Islands. These experiences are usually reserved for scientists, but Scott Waters’ business model also includes recreational use of the Pisces VI submarine, which will offer future tourists the possibility of reaching places that humans have not yet visited.
SUTUS (“Space & Underwater Tourism Universal Summit”) is a pioneering global event organized in Marbella by the Swiss educational institution Les Roches and Medina Media Events.
Space agencies such as the American NASA, the European ESA or the Japanese JAXA have already confirmed their presence in SUTUS 2021 to present their progress in the new era of space tourism.
The second edition of SUTUS will have a hybrid format, with a first on-site session on September 22 at the Les Roches Marbella campus, and two more virtual sessions on September 23 and 24. The three days can be followed after registration through the virtual platform of Medina Media Events, through which attendees can schedule video meetings with other participants and speakers, as well as visit exclusive online demos.
SUTUS 2021 is supported by the Andalusian Tourism Council, Costa del Sol Tourism and Planning, Extenda, Triton Submarines and Pisces VI.
